Melamine: Solids, Patterns & Woodgrains

In addition to our Private Reserve and Surface Synergies thermofused melamine stocking programs, Royal Plywood provides and extended offering of solid color, pattern, and woodgrain melamine panels. Royal offers a full spectrum of sizes and thicknesses. Overall, Royal Plywood offers one of the largest selections of thermofused melamine inventories in North America. What is TFM? Melamine panels consist of melamine resin saturated decorative papers that are thermally fused under heat and pressure to a substrate; usually particleboard or medium density fiberboard. This process permanently bonds the paper to the board to form a cross-linked thermo-set material. The material is also known as TFM (Thermofused Melamine). Melamine panels are more durable than vinyl and paper overlay panels. Although HPL (high pressure laminate) has superior wear and impact resistance, melamine panels are similar to HPL in other performance attributes (boiling water resistance, high temperature resistance, radiant heat resistance, stain resistance, light resistance, cleanability, fidelity of the printed design and/or color), while being more economical than HPL. Melamine panels offer the fabricator a material that won’t delaminate and that does not require any gluing or finishing of the surface application. All of our thermofused melamine, particleboard, MDF and other composite panels are CARB compliant. We currently do offer TFM panels with no added urea formaldehyde, as well. We also offer FSC certified TFM panels. Melamine Panels are designed for interior applications. These panels are typically used in the following applications: Commercial:
